It’s no secret that I love to dress in black and white. You can’t go past monochrome for a stylish, timeless look. Yes, prints and colours are big for summer, but don’t overlook black and white for your your wardrobe staples. Here are some tips on how to work the monochrome trend and some of my favourite summer staples from the latest KATIES collection.

THE MAXI | The maxi dress is a summer wardrobe staple. My pick for this season is the Palm Print Maxi. Buttoned up and belted it can be worn as a classic maxi with a wedge or sandal, and unbuttoned it doubles as a gorgeous kimono. You can wear it as a cover up for the beach or over jeans and a tank for a 70’s vibe. Either way, you get two outfits for the price of one, so it’s definitely a must for summer. Shop the maxi HERE.

ADD A POP OF COLOUR | The best way to wear all black in summer is to break it up with a pop of colour. This black crotchet kimono is the perfect beach accessory. Wear it as a beach cover up over a bright printed swimsuit or as the perfect cardigan replacement to jazz up your outfit. Shop Kimono HERE.

WHITE HOT | White on white is one of my favourite trends of the moment. It’s the easiest way to freshen up your summer wardrobe. Don’t be afraid of white! After becoming a mum, I swore I would never wear white again. But (post-reflux) it can be done- and contrary to what you might think, can be extremely flattering. For the most flattering silhouette wear fitted pants and looser top or visa versa- never tight with tight or loose with loose.
