Today catch up with Sarah...

Let’s start by hearing a little bit about yourself…Who is Sarah?

I’m a 24-year-old free thinking, coffee gulping, fashion and beauty addicted Aries who resides in Sydney. I’m a freelance journalist and blogger, spreading my time between writing for Australian lifestyle publications and editing my own blog Sarah What that’s filled with fashion, beauty and random musings!

Tell us about the inspiration behind your blog ‘Sarah What’ and how your blog came about.

I first started blogging while I was studying journalism at uni a couple of years ago. At the time I was spending two days a week helping create content for Madison magazine’s online website, and a lot of this content was beauty and fashion related. Some of my mentors at the magazine noticed that I had a knack for these niche topics and encouraged me to develop my writing in this area. Naturally I decided to start my own blog so that I could explore this passion further and I haven’t looked back!

Describe your personal style in 5 words

Eclectic, fun, expressive, wearable, flattering.

What does an average day in the life of Sarah What involve?

I usually wake up at around 9am, and if I’m working from home that day I start with breakfast and a quick flick through my social media channels, emails and I check what’s happening in the celebrity fashion space.

On most days I have a launch, meeting or blog commitment to attend mid-morning, so I’ll get dressed for that and head out the door for a couple of hours. This is the fun and glamorous side of blogging as you get to socialise with fellow bloggers and hear about new brand releases before anyone else does.

In the afternoon I like to whip together a blog for Sarah What. It’s normally based on what has inspired me that day, a new campaign that has been released, a celebrity fashion get-the-look or a beauty review.

Once I’ve done all of the above, I normally wrap up my work-day at around 6.30!

What is your most treasured fashion related purchase?

I recently bought my Celine Mini Boston bag on holidays in Monaco. It’s the perfect size because it never weighs me down.

If you could attend any runway show – which designer would it be and why?

Definitely Alexander Wang. His shows always feature the most cutting edge designs and because of that, he sets the trends. He always picks the best soundtracks for his shows as well.
