Mother's Day | Victoria Interview

Katies Head of Design | Mum of two: Jake, 7 & Ava, 9

What has given you the most joy as a mother?
Watching 2 very different individuals develop their
personalities and grow. One is an easy going creative, the
other a highly sensitive cheeky comic.

Best approach to style vs motherhood?
Biggest discovery is that you have to have a hand bag
that can go across body so you can be hands free to deal
with anything 2 toddlers do.

What was the most surprising thing about becoming a mum?
You have no idea about the concept of “lack of sleep”
until you have kids.

Best lesson your mum gave you?
Stay calm and be patient, kids can be a absolute joy,
but also incredibly challenging.

Best advice for maintaining a work/motherhood balance?
I make sure I’m there for important school events, it really
means a lot to my kids. At the weekend I make sure I do
one-on-one activites with them. I still have an annual
weekend away with my friends, usually to the Hunter Valley
and odd Saturday night out with my husband. Exercise is
hard to fit in too. Basically it’s hard to balance but you
have to do what feels right for you and your family.

What does Mother’s Day mean to you?
A day to enjoy my kids. Mother’s day is on a different day in
England so anything special for my mum is done that day.

What’s your ideal way to spend Mother’s Day?
Relaxing with my family and hanging out at home. When you
work full time it’s actually really nice to just be at home.

Chicest mum you know?
My friend Sam, she’s a designer and Mum of 3. She’s
rocking  all the latest trends in a really chic boho style.

What’s the most amazing thing about being a mum?
Seeing your kids sleeping, they look so beautiful and
peaceful  and you realise how lucky they are that they
have security and love, while there are many poor kids
in the world that are not as fortunate. I remind my kids of this.

Mother's Day | Sonia Interview

Katies Brand Director | Mother of 2, Lewis 14 & Zoey, 11

What has given you the most joy as a mother?
Seeing my kids reach the many milestones that happen as they
grow, saying their first word, making a new best friend
or getting an A on a school project.

Best approach to style vs motherhood?
Same advice whether you’re a mother or not, make sure you
feel good in whatever you wear and always wear it with
confidence. Don’t follow every trend.

What was the most surprising thing about becoming a mum?
The complete unconditional love you have for your kids and
they have for you. Also, that they are great to hang out with.

Best lesson your mum gave you?
“Don’t waste your worry - don’t worry about things that
might happen, focus on the present.”

Best advice for maintaining a work/motherhood balance?
Understand what your non-negotiables are and stick to them.
Trust what your instinct is telling you.

What does Mother’s Day mean to you?
A day to celebrate my mum and reflect on how lucky I am to
have my family.

What’s your ideal way to spend Mother’s Day?
Breakfast in bed whilst slowly reading the paper, then a lunch
with my family, finished off with watching a movie at home
with my two beautiful kids with popcorn!

Chicest mum you know?
My best friend Mel, she always looks amazing.

What’s the most amazing thing about being a mum?
That there are 2 people on this earth that came from you
and the way they look up to you is incredible.

Mother's Day | Carla Interview

What has given you the most joy as a mother?
Unconditional love.

Best approach to style vs motherhood?
I always go for something that is comfortable and on trend.
This season I am all about skinny jeans, a crisp white shirt
and blazer teamed with leather sneakers or boots.

What was the most surprising thing about becoming a mum?
How protective you become over your little ones
- it’s all about putting them first.

Best lesson your mum gave you?
Always look on the bright side of life and don't
sweat the small stuff.

Best advice for maintaining a work/motherhood balance?
Get a rich husband haha kidding!
Be organised and don't be afraid to ask for help.

What does Mother’s Day mean to you?
 Love.

What’s your ideal way to spend Mother’s Day?
Something simple like a picnic with great food and company.

Chicest mum you know?
Angelina Jolie - she is the full package, classic and
glamorous and always putting her children first.

What’s the most amazing thing about being a mum?
The love I get in return.

Mother's Day | Paula Joye Interview

What has given you the most joy as a mother?
All of it. What did I do with my time before they came along?
Being a Mum is a great privilege.

Best approach to style vs motherhood?
One shouldn't cancel out the other. Obviously when they are
babies you need clothes that are more practical for breast
feeding, playing on the floor, vomit! But really being a
mother shouldn't compromise what you wear

What was the most surprising thing about becoming a mum?
The fatigue. Who knew you could be so tired?!

Best lesson your mum gave you?
Children teach you to be selfless and it's a gift that keeps on giving.

Best advice for maintaining a work/motherhood balance?
There is no such thing. Some days work and some days don't.
I find that just as I manage to get all my plates spinning at
the same time - one crashes.

What does Mother’s Day mean to you?
Cake.

What’s your ideal way to spend Mother’s Day?
With my Mum.

Chicest mum you know?
My grandmother Anne and one of my best girlfriends Penny McCarthy who is Fashion Director of Good Weekend and
Sunday Life.

What’s the most amazing thing about being a mum?
The lessons and the love.

Meet our final Katies Collective Member

Hi Madeleine,  tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m the editor of The Daily Mark a beauty, tech and lifestyle blog. I live in Sydney with my partner, Eivind and my Pug, Wilma. With a love of pink lipsticks, new gadgets and great dinners I offer reviews, easy how-to’s and inspiration for anything that will make a mark on your day.

What made you want to start blogging? (what inspires you to do what you do)

I’ve always loved sharing new finds with friends and family. The Daily Mark allows me to do that just on a bigger scale. My background in web design and development made blogging my first choice to get started but with meeting so many great readers and fellow bloggers already who knows where else it could lead!

Your online presence stretches across different platforms – how do you keep them all up to date and how do you differentiate between them all?

I use a plugin called CoSchedule to push my new posts to different social channels including Facebook, Twitter and Google +. They tend to be more of a reflection of the site directly, allowing people to subscribe where it suits them. Instagram is literally just me on my phone taking snaps so it’s a bit more of a behind the scenes look at TdM and I love checking into Pinterest whenever I’m relaxed on the couch to browse for some inspiration and beautiful pictures.

What is on your summer wish list?

Some great shoes. I wasn’t ever a real shoe girl (my vice is handbags and wallets!) but this year I really feel like finding a nice pair of flats and heels for summer. A great new pair of sunnies wouldn’t go astray either!

If you could raid somone’s wardrobe – who would it be & why?

I'd have to be really impractical and say Ashley Olsen. We have totally different body shapes but I've always adored her classic yet quirky style. Her love for monochrome and her absolute talent at rocking that "I didn't try hard to look this good at all" vibe.

If you could give our readers one bit of fashion advice what would it be?

Don’t be afraid to try something new. Just because you ‘never wear pants’ or ‘only wear black’ doesn’t mean you can’t swap it up some times. Try a new shape or colour every once in a while. You might just surprise yourself!

And we welcome Deauvanne!

Let’s start by hearing a little about yourself…Who is Deauvanne?

I am a wife, mother, stylist, presenter and blogger. Originally from London I now live in Sydney with my husband and son and I have another one on the way. When I have a spare minute you’ll find me trawling the internet for uber-stylish fashion items for mums and bubs.

What led you to write about/be involved in the fashion industry?

I have been involved in fashion for over 15 years. I studied at The London College of Fashion and have worked as a model, buyer, stylist, TV presenter and Fashion Editor. I am obsessed with all things fashion.

Tell us about Mama Stylista - How the idea for your blog come about?

When I came to Australia somehow I ended up in recruitment and media sales. After the birth of my son I wanted a creative outlet that combined motherhood and fashion. Something that to allowed me to work from home. A friend of mine suggested starting a blog and Mama Stylista was born, my other baby. I  absolutely love it! Blogging has encouraged me to start styling/presenting again and has also led to roles as a Fashion Editor.

What is the first thing you look at in another person’s outfit?

Their shoes.

Who is your style icon?

I draw my influence from everywhere, street style, other bloggers, magazines. I would describe my style as classic chic. I like to mix designer pieces with High St brands and I live in heels. I don’t have one particular style icon, I love Olivia Palermo, Solange Knowles, Duchess Kate, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Joan Smalls, Chanel Iman, Victoria Beckham and Sarah Jessica Parker to name a few.

Finish this sentence: to be happy, fabulous & successful a woman should….

be herself.

Today catch up with Sarah...

Let’s start by hearing a little bit about yourself…Who is Sarah?

I’m a 24-year-old free thinking, coffee gulping, fashion and beauty addicted Aries who resides in Sydney. I’m a freelance journalist and blogger, spreading my time between writing for Australian lifestyle publications and editing my own blog Sarah What that’s filled with fashion, beauty and random musings!

Tell us about the inspiration behind your blog ‘Sarah What’ and how your blog came about.

I first started blogging while I was studying journalism at uni a couple of years ago. At the time I was spending two days a week helping create content for Madison magazine’s online website, and a lot of this content was beauty and fashion related. Some of my mentors at the magazine noticed that I had a knack for these niche topics and encouraged me to develop my writing in this area. Naturally I decided to start my own blog so that I could explore this passion further and I haven’t looked back!

Describe your personal style in 5 words

Eclectic, fun, expressive, wearable, flattering.

What does an average day in the life of Sarah What involve?

I usually wake up at around 9am, and if I’m working from home that day I start with breakfast and a quick flick through my social media channels, emails and I check what’s happening in the celebrity fashion space.

On most days I have a launch, meeting or blog commitment to attend mid-morning, so I’ll get dressed for that and head out the door for a couple of hours. This is the fun and glamorous side of blogging as you get to socialise with fellow bloggers and hear about new brand releases before anyone else does.

In the afternoon I like to whip together a blog for Sarah What. It’s normally based on what has inspired me that day, a new campaign that has been released, a celebrity fashion get-the-look or a beauty review.

Once I’ve done all of the above, I normally wrap up my work-day at around 6.30!

What is your most treasured fashion related purchase?

I recently bought my Celine Mini Boston bag on holidays in Monaco. It’s the perfect size because it never weighs me down.

If you could attend any runway show – which designer would it be and why?

Definitely Alexander Wang. His shows always feature the most cutting edge designs and because of that, he sets the trends. He always picks the best soundtracks for his shows as well.

Time to get to know, Leah

Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

Hi, I am Leah, mum to two little girls, Evie (3) and Astrid (11 months) and wife to Ryan. I am predominantly a stay-at-home mum and sometimes writer and stylist. I love spending time with my family and friends, watching my kids grow into funny little people and of course fashion. In my down time (between 7.30-10pm at night!), I enjoy unwinding with a cuppa and tim tam, checking out some of my favourite blogs and flipping through new and old fashion mags (If you are looking for a copy of Vogue circa 2002, there’s a good chance I’d have it).

Can you tell us about your blog ‘Stylish Mumma’ and what inspired you to start it?

When I fell pregnant with Astrid, I started to spend a lot of time Googling pregnancy style and looking for blogs that were a bit more focused towards ‘mum style’ but still very on-trend, just practical to a mum’s lifestyle. I struggled to find what I was looking for and at around 2am after getting up to settle Evie, Stylish Mumma was born. Stylish Mumma aims to be an online destination for fashion inspiration and styling advice that embraces trend driven looks and adapts them to suit the lifestyle of mothers.

How have you developed your style?

I think my style is constantly evolving and changes with each phase in my life. Over the years I have learnt some pieces are worth investing in, whilst some things aren’t. I am very inspired by images from street style photographers and stick to my “do I have three things this would go with” rule of thumb when making new purchases (especially of the investment variety). Having kids means more off-duty dressing, however, it also has enabled me to be more creative when it comes to adapting trends to suit my lifestyle. At the moment I would say my style is relaxed with a touch of luxe, layers and a nod towards current trends.

Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?

Not really, I see getting dressed in the morning as a form of creative expression, sometimes what I wear can be a dictator of my mood, or what sort of day I expect to have. I think the best thing to remember is whilst something may look great on a 6 foot runway model, it may not translate the same way on us mere mortals. So work out what your assets are, what you’d rather not flaunt and dress accordingly. Fashion is about having fun, which is what I remind my husband when he gives me that ‘you’re wearing that look’.

You have a knack for finding  affordable yet fashionable pieces; what should women look for to get the most out of their budget?

I find stocking up on basics from stores that offer deals when you buy two or more can be quite cost effective. White, grey, black, navy and stripe tees/tanks are great non expensive items that you don’t need to spend a lot of money on. Same goes for denim, it’s more about finding the right wash and right fit, if something is ill fitting, it doesn’t matter how expensive it is, it won’t look good. Accessories is another great way to add pizazz to an outfit without spending too much, a beautiful scarf or some stacked rings and layered necklaces can totally chance the look of an otherwise rather mundane outfit. I do spend more money on investment pieces and definitely have my go-to brands. A good quality blazer, silk shirt, high-end shoes, or that on-of-a-kind, will wear forever statement piece is definitely worth the investment. It is also worth signing up for store VIP cards and customer loyalty programs, as you will get special deals and incentives, plus be in the know with any upcoming sales and promotions.

If you could give our readers one bit of fashion advice what would it be? (Leah’s words of wisdom)

If you don’t feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing, change your outfit until you do.

Get acquainted with Domenica

Hi Domenica, tell us a bit about yourself?

Hi! My name is Domenica, I am 21 years old from Sydney! As I like to say I was brought up on a diet of Fashion magazines and Italian food! From a very young age I was obsessed with fashion and the world around it. Since creating my blog, I have worked with so many great people in the industry; It is a dream come true for me!

Why did you decide to start a blog?

I decided to start my blog because I thought there was a gap in the market for someone like me who was obsessed with Fashion, but wanted to be able to find pieces that would fit in my price range.
There are so many 'aspirational' blogs out there that don't really cater for the everyday women. My main goal of Vogue Vandal is to allow women to feel inspired that they can be ' in Vogue' and wear the latest styles! I try my hardest to find the latest styles on a budget and show my readers how to work them on a daily basis.

What are your aspirations for your blog & web presence?

I'd love to move into more of a styling role and work with brands on that level as well as continuing to grow my YouTube channel and presenting skills.

What is the one item of fashion you cannot leave the house without
A handbag! At the moment I love anything cross bodied, small and boxy. I don't like to carry around too many things in my bag, so the small size requires me to really edit down what I carry around everyday.

What is the one luxury item you are dying to have? (money no object)
Anything Givenchy!

If you could give our readers one bit of fashion advice what would it be?

Always wear what you feel good in. Don't wear something just because it is on trend. Style isn't about following trends, it's living in them.

This week, we meet Fiona...

Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

I'm in my (very) late 20's and live in Wollongong, NSW. My life is all about juggling being a Mummy to my two little cherubs whilst striving to reach my career dreams. It's a crazy-busy life but, hey, at least I can do it in style.

Are you a full time blogger for My Mummy Daze? How did you get into blogging?

I've been blogging at My Mummy Daze since 2011. I created my blog as a space to vent my frustrations and share my joys in motherhood. My Mummy Daze has grown into a wonderful community of like-minded women all trying to journey through motherhood the best way they know how.

Where do you get ideas for your posts?

My chaotic day-to-day life as a working mum provides me with endless blogging fodder to share online. I'm also a social media addict which inspires a lot of my blog writing. You can find me trawling Pinterest for home, recipe, beauty and fashion inspiration. Or you'll see my regular posts and comments on Instagram.

Describe your personal style and its influences/inspiration?

My personal style evolves with the seasons, but I always remain true to my personality. I'm all about pretty and practical with pops of colour and glamour. I LOVE wearing sunny yellows and pretty pinks to keep me feeling cheery, but I also love wearing chic textures and crisp blacks for instant glam.

What is the first thing you look at in another person's outfit?

I love to feel pretty but with two small children to chase after at the playground I need to be practical too - especially when it comes to SHOES! I'm always checking-out the choices of footwear that other Mums at the park and supermarket wear.

What is a fashion rule you never break?

My Mum has always had some strict do's and don'ts for fashion. Some rules I have broken - like to never mix prints and patterns. But one rule I'll never be breaking is her stance on wearing socks with thongs. Don't worry, Mum; it's NEVER going to happen!

Sonia joins the Katies Collective

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Sonia and I live in South Australia with my husband and our puppy, Amalfi. I work in admin by day and I’m a blogger every other second of the day and night. I love fashion, writing and connecting on social media. I’m an avid bargain hunter – I truly believe you can find amazing fashion anywhere; you’ve just got to be open minded. I’m also a chronic over sharer, which is probably a good thing I’m a blogger!

How did the ‘Sonia Styling’ blog journey begin?

I’m a writer at heart and I wanted a place of my own on the internet to communicate and connect, so I created Sonia Styling in October 2013. I wanted it to be a place where I can share my feelings, thoughts and finds. I’m incredibly lucky because I have the most amazing community of people who read what I write and leave such thoughtful comments. I also love helping people, so I get ridiculously excited when I receive a reader request.

What is a typical day in your life? (How do you balance blogging & work etc)

I wake up and the first thing I do is check my phone – tragic but essential! I work full time, so I use my early mornings, lunch-breaks and evenings to check in on social media, promote my posts and answer any questions or comments. I have a notebook with me at all times to write down any ideas that pop into my head and after dinner, I’ll sit down with the laptop and write my blog posts. Basically, I fit my blog into any spare time I might have. I’m still trying to get the balance right, but I think if you’re really passionate about something like I am about my blog, you make time for it.

What is the message behind Sonia Styling and how do you hope it’ll touch the lives of your readers?

I like to think of Sonia Styling as a cool little place to hang out and talk about everything from fashion to life, from the light and fluffy to the deep and serious. Having said all of that, I hope that anyone and everyone feels like Sonia Styling is a blog for them and sees me as their trusted online bestie – the one who loves to help and will always give their honest opinion.

Where do you go for fashion news & inspiration?

I love checking out fabulous Australian blogs (gosh we have so much talent!) and what people are wearing on social media, particularly Instagram and Pinterest. I’m inspired by everyday women and how they put their outfits together – much more attainable and relatable than catwalk models! I also like seeing what my favourite brands are sharing on their Facebook pages.

Do you ever have that girly moment when you simply think ‘I have nothing to wear?’

Every. Single. Day. Doesn’t every woman?!

If you could give our readers one bit of fashion advice what would it be?

Stay true to your personal style: dress for your body shape, personality and lifestyle. Also, have fun with fashion – it’s not rocket surgery!

Say hello to....Vanessa!

Let’s start by hearing a little bit about yourself…Who is Vanessa?

I am a Sydney-based blogger and business owner with a long standing devotion to fashion, design, interiors, being an entrepreneur, and everything online! I’m also a self-confessed pin-aholic!

As a child, I was buried deep into the pages of every international fashion magazine, memorising every photo and dreaming of the day where I could be involved in that world. My bedroom walls were carefully decorated with my favourite shoots from Bazaar and Vogue. (I may have even stalked a visiting supermodel or ten!)

Despite wanting a career in fashion, I completed an Economics degree at Sydney University and began a career in stockbroking at a very early age. Soon enough, my entrepreneurial desires took over, and I abandoned the markets in favour of fashion. I founded my first business (a fashion jewellery brand called ‘Glamadonna’) in 2004, which I still run today.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to take over the reigns at the well-known fashion and style blog ‘Breakfast with Audrey’. The editorship has “completed my puzzle” so to speak, in that it combines everything I love into one format and allows me to be constantly challenged.

I am fur-parent to my mischievous kitten Aspen, and I am currently renovating my first property. I have become quite acquainted with power tools which I am also loving - (honestly!)

How did you become to be the Editor of Breakfast with Audrey?

I am always on the lookout for new challenges and had been following Breakfast with Audrey for a couple of years. When I heard that the previous editor was moving on to a new direction in the fashion industry I jumped at the opportunity to pile all of my passions together and take the website over.

What is the style mantra behind your brand?

Make it beautiful.

What do you most love about your job?

It’s cheesy, but I love everything! I really feel lucky to have the blog and I enjoy all facets of running it; from creating interesting and inspiring content, to treating our readers with giveaways, to sampling new products, meeting soooo many great people, working with brands, growing and building. There is very little about it that I don’t genuinely love.

Do you have any tips for aspiring bloggers?

Yes. Be yourself! Do not try to fit into a certain mold of “blogger” by emulating what is already out there. You’ll have more longevity and create a genuine audience if you are unique. Secondly, learn how to negotiate.

Finish this sentence: To be happy, fabulous & successful a woman should…

Be herself and follow her passions.

Today we meet....Jacquii!

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hi, I’m Jacquii Lie - a born and raised Sydney girl with dreams of living in New York City. Bitten hard by the travel bug, I’m lucky enough to visit the most beautiful places whilst attending fashion weeks all over the world. I'm obviously addicted to fashion and cannot resist a good sale. I’m a closet ex-forensic anthropologist by trade and have a not-so-secret love for anything Disney.

How did ‘’Couture Caddy’’ come about?

I definitely fell into blogging. Back then, you wouldn’t grow up dreaming to be a blogger let alone know what it is really. Couture Caddy started whilst I was studying my masters at uni, as an online portfolio of sorts that showcased examples of writing for potential magazine jobs. One thing led to another and suddenly people started reading it....the rest is history.

What do you love most about your job?

FFF - the freedom, the fashion and the fun! It’s not very often you can honestly say you truly enjoy going to work everyday. The hours are intense, the competition fierce and work never-ending - but I just love every minute of it.

What is your favourite fashion quote?

”Fashion is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life. I don't think you could do away with it. It would be like doing away with civilization.”- Bill Cunningham

What fashion faux pas makes you cringe?

Drop-crotch harem pants - what were we thinking!

Finish this sentence: To be happy, fabulous & successful a woman should….

….be true to who you are.

Style Wars - eCommerce Manager vs Online Content Coordinator

We usually play nice here at Katies, but sometimes the work place calls for a little excitement! We've pitted our lovely eCommerce Manager Sarah and our equally fabulous Online Content Coordinator Jodie against one another in a little thing we've dubbed Style Wars.

They were asked to style our one-of-a-kind leopard print knit and white work shirt THEIR way and we want you to vote on our Facebook page! Who do you think got it right?

Sarah our eCommerce Manager OR Jodie our Online Content Coordinator?

We also asked them a little bit about themselves and what a work day involves for them, you can read their interviews below!

Hi Sarah,
You’re the E-commerce Manager for Katies, what exactly does that entail?

It means I get to work in the fabulous world of digital! The eCommerce team are responsible for everything you see online on the site www.katies.com.au and on our social channels, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Blog. I like online because it gives us a few more channels to be a little creative, which makes each day a bit more fun for the team.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

The challenge - eCommerce is fast paced and growing, which I thrive on. I also love having instant conversations with our customer and being able to share what we love at Katies with her, through our blog, Instagram and Pinterest.

What excites you the most about online?

Everything – it’s fast paced, full of information and there is something new to discover every day. It’s a great time filler for browsing my fave brands and reading up on what’s happening around the world in all areas, from fashion, food to general news.

Apart from Katies (obviously) where else do you shop online?

ASOS is a fave of mine and I love local retailers like Saba and Witchery. I also like to read various international and local blogs, who often link directly to product that I like, making it easy to shop.

I always love what you wear, can you tell us about your style?

I’m a mixed bag – I dress to my mood! I veer toward casual dressing more on a daily basis (tee, jeans, sneaker wedge and a nice accessory to glam it up) as I choose comfort, but when I do dress up for a function/party, I go all out.

What are you looking forward to most about dressing for the colder months and what won’t you be able to live without?

The Coatigan – I’m loving the European trend and Katies has their own version reaching stores in the next couple of months. The perfect coat hybrid for an Australian winter!

Hi Jodie
You’re the Online Content Coordinator for Katies, what does your day usually involve?

I organise web photoshoots, scheduling vendors (Hair & makeup, model & photographer), sourcing samples and creative direction with which I generate product & campaign copy. I also closely monitoring competitor activity instore & online to ensure our strategy is ahead of the curve.

How did you get into the industry?

I got into the industry by interning part time while I was at university. I think it is very important for students to obtain exposure to the industry they wish to pursue a career in while they are studying, not only to get first hand insight but also make sure it is the right fit. It’s also a great way to get your foot in the door!

Which Blogs do you go to for inspiration?

My all-time favourite traditional blog is Aussie duo – Tash & Elle for TheyAllHateUs – a mix of fashion, lifestyle & beauty. Blogs aside, I love using instagram – it’s a social media platform revolutionising blogs and online shopping! Reader be warned – it's addictive

You always look great, what clothing item could you not live without?

Everyone in the office is fully aware of my obsession for sequins so I would have to say one of my Aje sequin skirts.

What is a styling faux-pas you’ve made and regretted?

I have made a few style blunders but I would have to say the huge hooped earrings I used to sport take the cake!
